TrackHero is a free telemetry overlay tool that runs in your web browser. It takes a GPS session, either a .vbo from RaceChrono, VBOX Motorsport or Dragy, or the telemetry already embedded in a GoPro MP4, syncs it against your onboard track video, and renders speed, G-force and lap-delta gauges directly into the footage. There is nothing to install, no account to create, and your video never leaves your computer.

What it does

Load a .vbo session from RaceChrono, VBOX Motorsport, or Dragy, or just a GoPro video, since GPS and G-force come straight out of its embedded telemetry. Sync it against your onboard video on a simple timeline, customize the overlay, and export a finished MP4 with your speed, G-forces, and lap deltas burned in.

Supported files and devices

TrackHero reads GPS sessions in the VBO format, and telemetry embedded directly in GoPro footage. If your logger can export a .vbo, it will work.

Nothing leaves your browser

Parsing your GPS session, compositing the overlay, and encoding the final video all happen locally: no upload, no server round-trip, no account. The only network request TrackHero ever makes is an optional weather lookup if you fill in a track name.

Is TrackHero free?
Yes. TrackHero is free to use, there is no account to create, and exports are not watermarked or time-limited.
Do I need to install anything?
No. TrackHero runs entirely in the browser. Open it in Chrome on a desktop machine, drop in your files, and export. There is no download and no plugin.
Does my video get uploaded anywhere?
No. Parsing your GPS session, compositing the overlay and encoding the final video all happen locally in your browser. The only network request TrackHero makes is an optional weather lookup, and only if you type in a track name.
Which browsers does TrackHero work in?
TrackHero requires Google Chrome on a desktop computer. The video encoding pipeline depends on browser APIs that are not yet available everywhere, so Safari, Firefox and mobile browsers are not supported.
What data files can TrackHero read?
TrackHero reads .vbo sessions exported from RaceChrono, VBOX Motorsport and Dragy, and it can pull GPS and G-force straight out of the telemetry embedded in a GoPro MP4, with no separate logger required.
Can I export the overlay on its own, without the video?
