Dragy video overlay
Dragy's app can export a session as a .vbo file, and TrackHero reads that format natively. Load the export alongside your onboard video in desktop Chrome, align them, and export an MP4 with speed, G-force and lap-delta gauges rendered into the footage. Free, no install, nothing uploaded.
From a performance meter to a finished video
Dragy made its name as a GPS performance meter, doing 0 to 60 runs, quarter miles and roll races, and dragy·Lap extends the same hardware to circuit lap timing. What the app does not do is give you a shareable video with the numbers drawn into the picture.
That is a rendering job, and it is what TrackHero is for. Export the session as a .vbo, pair it with your onboard footage, and you get speed, G-force and lap deltas burned into an MP4.

At 25 Hz the speed needle moves convincingly in real time. At 10 Hz TrackHero interpolates between samples against the video timeline, which looks fine at normal playback speed but is more visible in slow motion.
Why VBO matters here
Dragy exporting to .vbo is what makes this work at all. VBO is Racelogic’s format, and it has become the common interchange language for track-day data. RaceChrono exports it, VBOX units write it natively, and analysis tools read it. Because TrackHero parses VBO directly, a Dragy session needs no conversion.

Drag runs versus circuit sessions
The speed gauge and G-force plot behave identically whether you are on a circuit or a runway. The lap-specific elements, the live delta and the lap overview, need multiple laps to compare against, so on a straight-line run they simply do not appear. Nothing breaks; the overlay just shows what it has data for.
